Poetry in Silence

I lost most of my juvenilia in a move decades ago, and that’s probably just as well. But, somehow, I never forgot this one. Decades later I’m still undecided if I like it or not.

Poetry in silence
Soft shadows shape reality
Encompassing all
In Shelter from lonliness.

A fire binds
A few for a time
And is out by morning
When we will awaken
And return by daylight
To our lives
Knowing memory of what others dream.
